What to Wear
A common question I often get asked is what to wear during your session. Although I have some fun ideas for your wardrobe, the top priority is comfort. When my clients feel good and comfortable, they feel themselves. And feeling yourself makes for great photos. Always aim for comfort!
Now that we got that out of the way, if there are some suggestions you would like, I always tend to aim a lot my photography with more neutral toned, boho themed wardrobe. Beige, creams, sage, lilac, greys, whites, neutrals, etc. One thing I do suggest is staying clear from busy pattern clothing. Sometimes the patterns take away from the faces and your eye only becomes drawn to the pattern. Solids are always a save choice.
You don't have to dress up to have beautiful images. I have taken many great family images with jeans and cute comfy, boho/neutral tops. Even some maternity images look great in jeans, and a white button down blouse with the baby bump showing. If you want a more elegant look, long maxi dresses are a favorite of mine. They look stunning in any outdoor setting and give you a reason to get a little bit dressed up.
For kiddos, I suggest the same sort of theme as above. You want them to be comfortable, but maybe have them put away their favorite spider man t-shirt, or unicorn dress for the session. It might be a battle, but a battle worth fighting for images that will last a lifetime!
For footwear, I've had some clients go barefoot, for that more natural, rustic look. While others will wear leather sandals, or cute slip ons.
